Hello, I’m Matt. I’m an artist and educator in Baltimore. I’m drawn to materials and to the ways they communicate on their own, shaping how we read an artwork. In my work I bring those qualities forward, creating objects that invite close attention through their material character.

I make objects that fall somewhere between playful, sculptural, and functional, all created here in Baltimore with a focus on thoughtful craft. Outside of my own work, I teach art and design at Parkville High School. Watching students build skills, experiment, and solve problems in unexpected ways keeps things interesting and unpredictable.
